Abstract
From January 1981 to December 1992, a retrospective study was conducted at Korea Cancer Center Hospital in 71 patients for FIGO clinical stage I, II endometrial carcinoma, the impact on survival of age at diagnosis, menopausal status, FIGO
clinical
and
surgical stage, myometrial invasion, tumor grade and histology was evaluated by univariate and multivariate analysis. At a median follow-up 35 months (range 3~142), 5 patients had died, and therefore overall 3-year survival was 91% (66/71).
Univariate
analysis showed that age and menopausal status did not influence survival, whereas FIGO clinical stage (p=0.008), histology (p=0.0001), surgical stage (p=0.0001), myometrial invasion(p=0.0091) and tumor grade (p=0.0384) were important prognostic
factors. Multivariate analysis showed that myometrial invasion (p=0.001), tumor grade (p=0.001) and FIGO surgical stage (p=0.025) had a significant impact on survival.
